CHICKEN & DUMPLINGS 
1 chicken
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk

Cook chicken in boiling water for 50 to 60 minutes. Remove from water. Keep broth boiling. Mix ingredients for dumplings and drop by spoonful into broth. Cook uncovered for 10 minutes, cover and cook 10 minutes. Serve immediately. Can add 1/4 cup shredded sharp cheese.
