CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS | |
1 (3 to 4 lb.) fryer, cut in half 3 1/2 qts. water 1 c. chopped celery 1 medium onion, chopped 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 4 chicken bouillon cubes 1 pkg. (12) regular size flour tortillas In a large pot, bring water to boil. Drop fryer in boiling water. Add celery, onions, and salt. Cover. Reduce to low and boil for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Remove fryer on plate to cool. Cut tortillas in 1 x 2 inch strips. Drop tortillas into boiling broth. Add pepper and bouillon cubes. Stir well. Cover and cook on low for 15 minutes. Debone and cut up chicken. Add to dumplings. Chicken Noodle Soup Chicken Rice Soup To the above recipe, omit tortillas. Add boiled Kluski noodles or cooked rice. |
