6 slices bread, toasted and buttered
4 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
Raisins, if desired
1 qt. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cube bread, add beaten eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Pour in 9x9 inch well-greased square pan, and bake in a pan of water at 400 degrees for about an hour or until set. Sprinkle nutmeg on top before baking.
