GOLDEN TOAST PUDDING 
4 slices bread toasted a golden brown in 300 degree oven
4 c. milk
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 egg yolks, well beaten
4 egg whites, well beaten

Roll toasted bread into fine crumbs. Scald the milk and add the sugar. Stir until dissolved. Add crumbs, vanilla and egg yolks. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into greased baking dish. Set dish into pan of hot water and bake 1 hour at 300 degrees or until knife comes out clean when inserted in center of pudding.

Good served almost warm, with whipped cream, a tart brightly colored fruit sauce, or just plain. Serves 5.
