ITALIAN ANISE TOAST 
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening
4 med. eggs
1 tsp. anise flavoring
3 tsp. almond flavoring
1 c. sugar

Cream sugar and shortening with a beater until fluffy. Add eggs and flavorings and continue to cream until thoroughly mixed.

Add flour, a little at a time and blend thoroughly. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, shape into a loaf, 2-3 inches wide x 2 inches high, flatten the ends.

Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes, until fully raised and golden brown. Remove from oven and cool slightly. Cut into 1/2 inch slices and place flat on baking sheet and return to oven for 10 minutes. Remove. Cool and store.
