ITALIAN ANISE TOAST 
2 eggs
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. anise seed
1 c. all-purpose flour

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease and flour a loaf pan 9 x 5 x 3 inches. Beat eggs and sugar thoroughly. Add anise seed. Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting. Mix in flour. Bake in prepared pan about 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean. (Pan will be only one- fourth full.)

Remove from pan and cut loaf into sixteen 1/2 inch thick slices. Place slices on greased baking sheet; bake 5 minutes or until bottoms of slices are browned; turn and bake 5 minutes more or until sides are browned. Makes 16 slices.
