NANA'S ITALIAN COFFEE BISCUIT
TOAST
 
5-6 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 c. milk
3 tsp. (heaping) baking powder
3 c. flour
Pinch salt

Mix all ingredients together and make a soft dough. Divide the dough into 4 loaves (width of each loaf about 4 inches). Place 2 loaves on a cookie baking pan. (Bake each pan separately.) Bake at 375 degrees F. for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Then remove from oven and then slice each loaf into 1 inch slices. Lay each slice on its side in the baking pan. Put each pan back into the oven and bake until lightly browned. Remove from pan and cool.
