THIN LAYER CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
2 sticks butter
2 c. self-rising flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix well; bake in thin layers about 500 degrees.

FROSTING:

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk (half and half)
1 stick butter
1 tbsp. Karo syrup

Cook until sugar is completely melted. Spread on layers.
