THREE LAYER CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
Vanilla

Beat butter until creamy. Add sugar and beat. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Stir in alternately 2 1/2 cups flour and 1 cup buttermilk. Mix together and then add to first mixture:

4 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. boiling water

Pour into 3 greased layer pans and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until done. When cool frost with following:

2 c. granulated sugar
2 tbsp. white syrup
1 c. Pet milk

Bring to a boil, stir continually. Cook to a very soft ball. Do not overcook! Add 6 ounces chocolate chips, stir in and be ready to frost cake. Frosting can set up fast.
