GOBS 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
3/4 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa

FROSTING:

1 c. milk
1/4 c. flour
Pinch of salt
1 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together sugar, shortening, and eggs. Add water and vanilla. Sift together and add flour, soda, baking powder, salt, and cocoa. Drop by tablespoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake 5 minutes at 450 degrees. When cool, frost with creamy frosting to make a sandwich cookie.

Frosting: Mix flour and milk in a jar to shake out lumps. Cook until thick. Add a pinch of salt. Let cool. In bowl, beat sugar and butter until fluffy. Add cooled mixture and vanilla. Beat until fluffy.
