GOBS 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1/2 c. boiling water

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk and hot water. Drop by spoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake 5-7 minutes at 400 - 425 degrees. Put filling between 2 cookies when cool.

FILLING:

5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. vegetable shortening
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook flour and milk until thick, stirring constantly. Cool. Cream other ingredients together and add cooked mixture, 1 tablespoon at a time.
