OVEN SWISS STEAK 
1 1/2 lbs. round steak, 3/4 inch thick
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 -1 qt. canned tomatoes
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1/2 c. carrots, chopped
2 tbsp. onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 c. cheese, shredded

Cut meat into four portions. Mix flour and salt. Pound into meat. Set aside remaining flour. Brown meat in small amount of shortening. Place meat in shallow baking dish. Blend remaining flour into skillet drippings. Add tomatoes, celery, carrots, onion and Worcestershire sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Pour over meat. Cover. Bake for 2 hours until tender at 350 degrees. Top with cheese. Return to oven to melt.
