GRANDMA JONES' CHOCOLATE PIE 
3 egg yolks
1 c. sugar
4 heaping tsp. cocoa
1 heaping tbsp. cornstarch plus 1 tsp. cornstarch
1 1/4 c. milk
Pinch of salt
2 1/2 c. vanilla
1/4 c. butter

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites
5 heaping tsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

1 baked pie crust

Filling: Combine dry ingredients. Mix to get out all lumps. Add milk and egg yolks. Beat. Add vanilla. Cook over double boiler until thickened. Stir constantly. Add butter. Put top of double boiler directly over heat for a few minutes. Stir constantly. Pour into crust.

Meringue: Beat egg whites until stiff. Add remaining ingredients and beat. Spread over pie. Bake at 350 degrees until brown.
