1 1/2 c sugar
3 c vinegar
1/2 c salt
2 tsp whole allspice
1 tsp whole cloves
4 qts. green tomatoes sliced
6 tbsp mustard seed
1 1/2 qts sliced peeled onion

Combine first four ingredients in big pan. Put next 2 ingredients in cheese cloth bag and add to first. Bring to boil. Put in onion and tomatoes. Boil for 5 min. uncovered or until tender.

Put in hot jars and seal.
