CREAMY APPLE SALAD 
1 can (13 1/2 oz.) pineapple tidbits
6 lg. pared red apples, cut in wedges
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped celery
1/2 c. quartered maraschino cherries
3/4 c. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. frozen whipped topping, thawed

Drain pineapple, reserving 1/4 cup juice. Combine pineapple, apples, nuts, celery and cherries. In large bowl combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt and reserved pineapple juice; blend well. Fold in whipped topping. Pour dressing over apple mixture, toss gently. Serve on lettuce leaves, if desired. Makes 8- 10 servings.
