SIMPLE FRUIT COBBLER 
1 stick butter
1 c. self-rising flour
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
1 (No. 2) can fruit

Melt butter in a shallow baking dish. Pour well mixed flour, sugar and milk mixture into melted butter. Do not stir. Then add fruit. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove from oven, sprinkle 1/4 cup of sugar over crust and return to oven for 10 minutes if you wish to. The cobbler is good without this sugar being put on top of crust. Can serve with Cool Whip or without Cool Whip.
