1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. hot water
1-1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. oatmeal
1 large package chocolate chips
1 c. nuts

Combine all, mix, spoon onto cookie sheet.

Bake at 375°F, 10 minutes. Makes six dozen.
