6 eggs 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 1/2 c. softasilk cake flour (sift & then measure) 1/2 tsp. salt, level 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 6 tbsp. cold water 1 tsp. lemon juice 1 lemon rind Beat yolks until thick and lemon color. Beat in sugar gradually, sift flour and salt together alternately with water and mix with mixture. Add lemon juice and lemon rind. Beat egg whites until foamy and add baking powder, continue beating until it comes to a point. Fold into mixture. Pour into ungreased tube pan. Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Bake for 50-60 minutes. |
