1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sour milk
1 beaten egg

Mix flour, sugar, salt and shortening until crumbly; reserve 1/2 cup. To remaining crumbs, add baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, milk and egg; mix well. Pour into greased and floured 8 x 11 1/2 inch round pan. Top with reserved crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
