FUNNEL CAKE 
1 egg
1 1/3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. milk
2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder

Sift flour, salt, sugar, baking powder and baking soda together in a bowl. In another bowl, beat egg and the milk. Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth.

Place about 1 inch of cooking oil in a frying pan and heat to 375 degrees. Now, holding your finger over the bottom of the funnel, pour some of the batter into the pan (using a circular motion so the cake will look spiral). Fry until golden brown. Drain cake on paper towel, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.
