BEEF STEW 
1 lb. stew beef, cut in sm. cubes
4 oz. mushrooms, with liquid
4 carrots, cut in chunks
3 potatoes, cut in chunks
2 sm. onions, cut in wedges
Generous handful frozen peas
1 pt. canned tomatoes, with liquid
1 beef bouillon cube
3 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. dried basil
Dash Kitchen Bouquet
1 tsp. sugar

Combine all in large ovenproof kettle. Bake, covered, in 300 degree oven for 5-6 hours, stirring every hour or so. During last hour, add 1/2 cup water shaken with 1/4 cup flour.
