RICE PILAF 
1 beef bouillon cube
1 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
1 tbsp. onion flakes
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1 (4 oz.) can mushroom slices (or sliced fresh mushrooms), drained
Instant brown rice, 6 servings according to pkg. directions
Additional water to make 6 servings according to pkg. directions

Note: This recipe works best in a microwave oven. Stove top cooking may cause sticking.

1. In a 2 quart microwave-proof dish, pour boiling water over bouillon cube and stir to dissolve cube.

2. Add spices and stir together. Let sit 5 minutes to rehydrate parsley and onion.

3. Add mushrooms and rice and additional water as needed according to package.

4. Cover and vent, then microwave according to package directions.

5. Fluff before serving. Serves 4 to 6.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
