GRAPENUT CUSTARD | |
4 eggs 2 cups milk 1/2 cup grapenuts 1/8 tsp salt 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp salt Beat eggs and add remaining ingredients. Pour into an 8x8 inch or 6x10 inch pyrex or other ovenproof baking dish. Set baking dish into a pan of warm water in oven. Bake in a preheated 450°F oven for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F and continue to bake 30 more minutes. Variation: To make a crust, line bottom of baking pan with a combination of an additional 1/2 cup grapenuts, 4 tablespoons melted butter and 1/2 tsp cinnamon mixed together and pressed into the bottom of buttered baking dish.
