CRACKLE TOP COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. mild molasses
2 tbsp. cocoa
4 c. sifted flour

Cream together the butter, sugar and salt; add soda, cinnamon and cloves, mixing well. Stir in molasses and cocoa. Gradually add flour, mixing well after each addition. Chill dough 30 minutes or overnight in refrigerator. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.

Bake in 375 degree oven 10 minutes or until cookies are browned lightly around edges. Let stand 5 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
