CRACKLE TOP GINGER COOKIES 
1 c. shortening (oleo)
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. molasses
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. ginger

Cream sugar, shortening, and beaten egg. Add dry ingredients and molasses.

Roll into balls and bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes (larger cookies take longer).
