PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH MOLASSES
CRUMB PIE
 
Make two pie crusts; set aside. Mix weting:

1 1/4 c. Brer Rabbit dark molasses
Pinch of salt
1 c. hot coffee
1 tsp. baking soda
1 lg. egg

Mix in one bowl.

CRUMBS:

3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
1/2 stick butter

Pour weting into pie shell for wet bottom, let set a few minutes. Pour crumbs on top, sprinkle a little cinnamon. Bake in 400 degree oven for 10 minutes; reduce to 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Makes 2 (9 inch) pies.
