GERMAN POTATO SALAD AND BRATWURST | |
4-5 lg. potatoes 1 onion, sliced 1 tsp. salt Water 4-5 slices bacon, diced 2 tbsp. flour 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/3 c. vinegar 2/3 c. water 1/2 tsp. celery seeds Peel and slice potatoes. Combine with onion in crock pot. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt. Cover with water. Cover and cook on low 5 to 6 hours or high 2 to 3 hours. Remove from pot and drain and return to pot. Brown bacon in skillet. Stir in flour, sugar, mustard, 1 teaspoon salt and pepper; mix well. Add vinegar, 2/3 cup water and celery seeds. Cook several minutes or until thick. Pour over cooked potatoes in slow cooker. Top with hot dogs or bratwurst. Turn on high. Cover and cook on high 30 to 4 minutes or until hot. |
