SWEET AND SOUR GREEN BEANS 
1/4 lb. bacon
2 pkgs. frozen green beans
1 c. water
1 medium onion
1 c. vinegar
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. bacon fat
salt and pepper, to taste

Fry bacon until crisp; then crumble. In same pan lightly sauté onion; set aside.

Cook beans in 1 cup water with vinegar, sugar, bacon fat, salt and pepper. About 1 minute before beans are to be served, add bacon and onion. Boil 1 minute, drain and serve. Amounts of vinegar and water can be varied depending on whether you prefer them sweet or sour.

Serves 6-8.
