1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

Blend Crisco, sugar, peanut butter, salt and egg. Add combined dry ingredients and mix well. Space into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Press criss-cross on each ball with tines of fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool on pan 2-3 minutes before removing to racks to cool.

This is a great recipe for children to help with. Makes 4 dozen.
