2 c. sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. butter
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift sugar and flour in bowl. Combine butter, water, cocoa and cook to boiling. Pour over sugar and flour. Mix well and add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Pour into greased pan, 15 x 10 inches and bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. cocoa
5 or 6 tbsp. milk
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine butter, cocoa and milk and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add rest of mix and spread on cake while cake is hot.
