DISAPPEARING MARSHMALLOW BROWNIES | |
1/2 c. butterscotch pieces 1/4 c. butter 3/4 c. flour 1/3 c. brown sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 1 c. miniature marshmallows 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/4 c. chopped nuts Melt butterscotch pieces and butter in a heavy 3 quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove and cool to lukewarm. Add flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, vanilla, and egg to butterscotch mixture in pan. Fold marshmallows, chocolate pieces, and nuts into the butterscotch batter, mixing about 5 strokes. Spread into a greased 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not overbake. The center will be soft but becomes firm upon cooling. |
