CRANBERRY TRENTON DESSERT 
3 c. fresh cranberries, chopped
3 c. tart apples, chopped
1/3 c. plus 1/2 c. light brown sugar, divided
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. salt, divided
1 c. quick cooking oats
1/3 c. sifted flour
2 tbsp. crushed corn flakes
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. chopped pecans

In mixing bowl, combine cranberries, apples, cornstarch, 1/3 cup of the brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon of the salt. Pour into buttered 11 x 7 inch baking dish.

In another bowl mix together oats, remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar, flour, corn flakes and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in nuts. Sprinkle evenly over top of cranberry mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve warm or cold. Garnish with dollop of whipped topping if desired.
