FRENCH TOAST STRIPS 
Orange Kirsch Sugar (below)
2 eggs
3/4 c. milk
1 tbsp. sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
12 thin slices white bread, crusts trimmed if desired
butter, about 2 tbsp.

Prepare Orange Kirsch Sugar; set aside. Slightly beat the eggs with milk, sugar, and salt in a shallow bowl. Mix in orange peel. Cut each bread slice into 3 strips. Dip each strip into egg mixture, coating all sides and allowing excess to drain off before frying. Brown strips in hot butter in a skillet; add butter as necessary to prevent sticking. Serve hot with Orange Kirsch Sugar. 6 servings.

ORANGE KIRSCH SUGAR:

Mix 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup grated orange peel and a small amount of Kirsch.
