MABEL'S AMERICAN CHOP SUEY 
2 tbsp. butter
1 lb. ground beef
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, cut up
3/4 c. reg. rice
1 c. celery, chopped
2 c. canned stewed tomatoes
1 lg. can mushrooms
1 tsp. salt
1 c. water

Brown ground beef and onion in butter. Then add green pepper, rice, celery, tomatoes, mushrooms, salt, and water. Cook over low heat for 1 hour. Serve with salad and bread.
