VEGETABLE CASSEROLE 
SAUCE:

2 tsp. butter, melted
1 1/2 c. milk
1 heaping tbsp. flour
5 oz. jar Old English cheddar cheese spread

BASIC RECIPE:

1 1/2 c. cracker crumbs
1 med. can green asparagus
1 sm. can green peas
1 sm. can mushrooms, sliced
3 tbsp. sliced almonds
1/2 stick butter

Melt 1/2 stick butter in 2 quart casserole. Next, add asparagus, drained. Add peas and juice next, then mushrooms, drained. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup cracker crumbs. Next sprinkle 3 tablespoons almonds. Pour all of sauce over top. Sprinkle remaining cracker crumbs over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

To make Sauce: Melt butter, add flour. Stir until smooth. Add milk. Stir over medium heat until medium thick. Add cheese. Stir constantly. Cook about 4 minutes. Pour over vegetables.
