DELUXE TORTE 
1/2 lb. butter
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. rum

Mix above ingredients together and knead. Divide dough into 2 parts. Roll each piece to fit 9 x 13 inch pan. I roll each piece between sheets of waxed paper and put into refrigerator while making filling.

FILLING:

1/2 lb. chopped nuts
1/2 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Grated rind of 1 lemon
1 tsp. lemon juice
6 beaten egg yolks

Fold this mixture into 6 stiffly beaten egg whites. Put one piece of dough into baking pan, spread filling over dough, then cover with another piece. Spread a beaten egg white on top with pastry brush. Bake at 325 degrees until golden brown. Cut into diamond shaped pieces when cool.
