MERINGUE TOPPING 
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
3 egg whites

Cook water, sugar and cornstarch until it boils; then cool. This mixture will be stiff when cooled. Beat egg whites (room temperature) and the first mixture. Put on warm pie filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Has to be put on warm filling or it will slide off.
