2 c. flour 1 tbsp. baking powder 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. raisins 2 egg yolks + 2 eggs 4 tbsp. milk Mix flour, baking powder and sugar; cut in butter with a fork until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Stir in raisins. Beat 2 egg yolks and 1 whole egg and milk. Pour over flour mix. Mix until mix forms a ball. Roll out on floured surface to 3/4" thick. Cut in rounds and place on a greased baking sheet. Beat remaining egg and brush on scones. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 15 minutes and slightly brown. Serve cooled with butter or jam. |
