EXOTIC 5-HOUR STEW 
2 lbs. lean stewing meat, cut in 1-inch cubes
1 lb. can tomatoes
2 sm. onions, quartered
3 med. potatoes, quartered
3 med. carrots, cut in 1-inch lengths
3 tbsp. tapioca
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. red wine (optional)

Combine all ingredients in 3-quart casserole. Do not brown meat. Stir to blend. Cover; bake 5 hours at 250 degrees; do not stir. Take covered casserole to table to serve. Can be made in crock pot 12-15 hours on low setting or 5-6 hours on high setting but add 2 cups hot water.

1 1/2 pound package frozen stew vegetables may be substituted for the fresh vegetables.
