CREAM CHEESE CHOCOLATE CHIP BARS 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon extract or juice
2 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. coarsely chopped peanuts or walnuts (optional)
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cream butter. Add sugar, beating until smooth and fluffy. Add cream cheese; blend in eggs, vanilla, and lemon extract. Mix flour, baking powder, and baking soda together. Stir into cream cheese mixture. Add nuts and chocolate pieces. Grease and flour a square cake pan; add mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until done. Frost.

FROSTING:

4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 stick butter
4 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring cocoa, milk, and butter to a boil. Pour mixture over powdered sugar; add vanilla. Mix well and pour over bars while they are still hot. Let frosting set for approximately 4 hours before cutting into bars.
