FLEMISH BEER STEW 
3 lb. beef chuck, cubed
6-8 slices bacon
8 oz. chopped onions
1 can beer
1 c. consomme or beef stock broth
2 tbsp. caraway seeds
1 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. pepper

Fry the bacon until crispy. Remove from drippings. Brown meat in bacon drippings, sprinkle with pepper. Set aside. Saute onions in bacon drippings. Add meat to other ingredients. Put into crock pot and simmer for 3 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.
