GEORGIA APPLE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
juice of half a lemon
3 c. flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. chopped apples
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/4 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla

In large bowl, beat sugar, oil, vanilla, eggs and lemon juice. Add flour, soda and salt; blend well. Stir in apples and nuts.

Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan at 325°F for 1 1/2 hours. A few minutes before cake is done, prepare topping.

In saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, milk and vanilla. Boil for 2 1/2 minutes. Pour over hot cake; cool.
