EGG SUPREME DISH
My grandmother makes it every year for Christmas breakfast, and it has become a tradition in my family!!!! I'm sure once you make it, you will save this recipe for good!!!

1 lb. of either cooked bacon, sausage, or ham
1/2 onion, chopped
butter
1 dozen eggs
4 cups milk
salt and pepper, to taste
1 lb. sliced thick white American cheese
12 slices thick cut bread (I use Pullman style bread)

Start out by frying your choice of meat of either cut up in small pieces of bacon, sausage, or ham. Set aside. Sauté the onion with butter until soft. Set aside.

In large bowl whisk together eggs and milk. Add salt and pepper. Take your bread, and butter each slice. Lay down 6 slices of the buttered bread in a 13x9-inch baking dish in single layer, then take your meat, and crumble it on top of the bread, then put one slice of cheese on each slice of bread, then layer the next slices of bread on top, and spread the onion, remainder of the meat, and top each slice of bread with cheese again.

Take egg, and milk mixture, and pour on top of the whole dish, cover with foil, and place in the refrigerator. Keep in refrigerator at least 4 hours prior to baking to allow egg to soak up mostly in the bread (I do mine the night before, and refrigerate overnight).

Keep foil on, and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, then remove foil, and bake an additional 30 minutes. Remove from oven, and let sit at least 20 minutes before cutting. It's absolutely delicious!!! Enjoy!!
