1 box German chocolate cake mix 1/2 c. evaporated milk 1/2 c. melted butter 2 eggs 1 (15 oz.) pkg. caramels 1/3 c. evaporated milk 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips Blend cake mix, 1/2 cup evaporated milk, butter, and eggs. Spread half the batter in greased and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Melt caramels in a pan with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Spread carefully over baked crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the caramel mixture. Spread remaining batter on top. Bake for 20 minutes. Cool and cut in bars or squares (for best results, do not overcook). |
