EDNA'S STRAWBERRY PIE 
1 c. granulated sugar
4 tbsp. dry strawberry Jello
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. water

Bake a 9 inch pie crust. Cool. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the bottom. Clean and drain approximately 1 quart fresh strawberries.

Bring above 4 ingredients to a boil. Let boil about 3 minutes. Stir continuously. Cool. Put drained berries in Jello mixture. Put in pie crust. Refrigerate 45 minutes so filling can jell. Serve with whipped cream.

My mother-in-law, Edna Smith, often made this wonderful pie, although she used only three tbsp of jello. A good variation is peach jello with sliced peaches and blueberries.
