BANANAS ON THE HALF SHELL 
6 bananas
1/4 c. lemon juice or enough to sprinkle over bananas
6 tbsp. brown sugar
Butter
1/4 to 1/3 c. rum

Do not peel bananas but slit them in half. Place in a baking dish with cut side up. Sprinkle with lemon juice and brown sugar; dot with butter. Let set for half an hour. Pour rum over the bananas and put under broiler for 10 to 15 minutes. Baste once or twice and serve when bubbling hot as a meat accompaniment. Delicious with ham, Shrimp Creole, or any spicy entree.
