HAMBURGER JERKY | |
1 lb. ground beef 2 tsp. salt (canning is best) 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. onion powder 1/4 tsp. ginger Blend spices well into meat. Divide into 2 or 3 portions. lay this mixture between 2 pieces of plastic. Using a rolling pin, roll 1/4 inch thickness. Remove top layer of plastic. Turn a cake cooling rack over the meat mixture and reverse. Peel off layer of plastic. Place in middle shelf of oven. Bake at 175 degrees for 6 or 6 1/2 hours. Leave oven door ajar 2 or 3 inches. Aluminum foil may be placed on shelf below to catch melted fat. While jerky is still warm, cut into strips with scissors. |
