WATER-WHIP PIE SHELL | |
1/2 c. less 1 tbsp. butter or Spry 3 tbsp. boiling water 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt Put butter or Spry in medium mixing bowl. Add boiling water and milk and break up shortening with fork. Tilt bowl and whip or beat with fork. Mix until mixed together, smooth and thick like whip cream and holds soft peaks. If too warm put in refrigerator a little while, then try whipping again. Sift flour and salt together into butter mixture. Stir until dough clings together and "cleans" bowl. Roll out between wax paper. Fit in one greased and floured 9" pie shell. Prick shell with fork all over bottom. Bake at 450 degrees for 14 to 19 minutes. |
