EASY MUSHROOM STEAK
2 to 2 1/2 lb. steak (sirloin, round steak or 7-bone)
1 env. dry onion soup mix (Lipton)
1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms with liquid (stems and pieces are OK)
1 (15 oz.) can whole white potatoes, drained
1 small sweet onion (or 1/2 regular onion)
1/2 tbsp. butter

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Cut onion into thin strips and sauté in butter until browned and very soft. Set aside.

In a casserole dish, place steak on bottom (may want to trim off any fat). Add one envelope of dry onion soup mix - spread evenly over steak. Spread mushrooms (liquid included) evenly over steak and soup mix. Add sautéed onions. Add whole potatoes (NOT the liquid) on top of mushrooms and onions.

Cover with lid and bake at 325°F for about 2 hours.

Serve making sure to add onions and mushrooms with gravy on each portion of steak and potatoes.
