WHITE MOUNTAIN POUND CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
3 tsp. baking powder
4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
6 egg whites, beaten stiff
2 tsp. almond flavoring

Cream shortening and sugar. Add almond extract and beat well. Mix dry ingredients. Add alternately with milk. Fold in egg whites. Bake in greased tube pan for 55-60 minutes at 350 degrees.

Halve the recipe to bake in loaf pan.
